PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: The simultaneous police operation of Police Regional Office Cordillera led to the arrest of six offenders over the past days.

Through tipped information, five drug users were caught in the act of having pot session inside an abandoned house at Barangay Lumaba Villaviciosa, Abra in the morning of June 12, 2017. Suspects were identified as Regie Pinera y Castillo, 29; Patrocinio Basseg y Domingo, 42; and Rogelio Barbero y Bobiles, 44, all residents of Barangay Lumaba Villaviciosa, Abra. Seized during the operation were 7 heat sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; drug paraphernalia; and cash money amounting to Php1,990.00.

In another operation, a local tourist identified as Joseph Forcadela Cordova, 22, presently residing at Saranay Cabatuan, Isabela was likewise arrested for possession of illegal drugs at the parking area along the National Road at Poblacion Tinglayan Kalinga in the morning of June 10, 2017.

Suspect was about to board a vehicle going to Tabuk City, Kalinga to transport suspected Marijuana hashish to the province of Isabela, when he was stopped and freeze by operatives of Tinglayan Police Station. As a result, two pieces of Marijuana Hashish wrapped in a transparent packing tape inserted in his right and left foot covered by his socks, one Nokia cellphone and cash amounting to Php298.00 were confiscated.

On the other hand, successive implementation of search warrant were undertaken in the province of Abra that resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the confiscation of assorted firearms and ammunitions.

Benito Walis y Tungaben, 67, a resident of Brgy. Naguilian, Sallapadan, Abra was arrested after cops seized One Cal .45 Pistol; One Magazine for Cal .45 Pistol; and 6 live ammunitions for Cal .45 Pistol in the early morning of June 12, 2017.

While in the residence of two more suspects at Brgy. Namarabar, PeƱarrubia and Sitio Pagaoan, Budac, Tayum, both in Abra, following contraband were seized as follows: 1 Caliber 38 Colt Revolver loaded with one live ammunition was seized and one Caliber 7.62 M14 rifle with markings US RIFLE CAL 30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. Suspects however were not around during the operation on June 9, 2017.

Judge Raphiel F. Alzate, Executive Judge of RTC, Branch 1, Bangued, Abra issued the above search warrants for Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act) against the above-mentioned residences.

PCSUPT ELMO FRANCIS SARONA, PROCOR Regional Director lauded the participating personnel for a job well done in sustaining the unrelenting campaign of law enforcers against the proliferation of illegal drugs and loose firearm.
