PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: Bicycle race with the theme “1st RD PROCOR: Padyak Tungo sa Pagbabago 2017 was just concluded this morning at PROCOR Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet.

Two hundred fifty bicycle enthusiasts from the different parts of the region composed of civilian and PNP personnel participated the race that started at La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and ended at the finish line at PROCOR Grandstand, Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.

After the race, awarding of top finishers followed immediately. Awardees for the Top 3 Civilian Amatuer Finishers. Taking the lead was the 1st placer Cazan Clyde Carreon, followed by the 2nd placer James Dacayanan, then 3rd placer Sonny Lamsis.

Special Awards were also given to the following: Retired PSSupt Brigildo Balaba, 71 years old bagged the Oldest Finisher Award; Ms Marjorie Velo received the Lady Finisher Award while brothers Ren Henry Tarnate, 5 years old and Willer Ander Tarnate, 8 years old were given special tokens as the youngest finishers.

Following the awarding was a raffle draw which was participated by all the participants who registered. A total of 33 items donated by various sponsors were won by lucky participants.

Highlights of the program was the presentation of the Cheque to the Department of Health (DOH) of Baguio City duly received by Dr. Clarette Rosario, Medical Specialist II and Dr Shelly Aral, Medical Officer IV representing Baguio Rehab Center and Dr. Mary Josephine P. Dulawan, representing the Ifugao Reflection Camp.

PROCOR initiated the fun race to help defray rehabilitation expenses of PROCOR drug surenderers. This is also geared towards bringing awareness to a healthier lifestyle and attaining a stronger sense of camaraderie among the participants.

As to the updates of drug surenderers, PROCOR has initiated the surrender of 10,818 drug personalities in the Cordillera region since July 1, 2016 to April 20, 2017

PROCOR Leadership PCSUPT ELMO FRANCIS OCO SARONA is appreciative of the apparent close collaboration of the PNP and the different stakeholders who showed full support in this particular endeavor.

The public and other stake holders are urged to fully support the activities for fund raising for drug surenderers and enjoined everyone to support the government in its campaign against illegal drugs to lessen if not totally eliminate the drug menace in the region. (PROCOR RPIO)
