CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet: In its bid to neutralize all wanted persons in the region, the untiring effort of the warrant police officers and tracker teams of the Police Regional Office Cordillera resulted in the arrest of 63 wanted persons over the past 15 days.

Highlighted among the 63 arrested wanted persons is the No. 9 Top Most Wanted Person (TMWP) of Cordillera region for the 2nd Quarter of CY 2017, Ruben Waclin Oliver who is charged with the crime of rape. He was nabbed at Barangay Palitud, Paracelis, Mt Province in the afternoon of June 5, 2017 by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Joseph Patna-an of RTC Br 35, Bontoc, Mt Province.

Another is the No. 5 TMWP of the CIDG-Baguio charged for the crime of Estafa. Arrested suspect identified as Prescilla Ramos Buslay, 58, presently residing at Balacbac, Baguio City was apprehended at Buyagan La Trinidad, Benguet in the afternoon of June 14, 2017. Judge Maria Ligaya V. Itliong Rivera, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 60, Baguio recommended bail bond of ₱200,000.00.

In the municipal level, the following 5 Most Wanted Persons were consecutively arrested in the different parts of the region:

In Abra, No. 1 TMWP identified as Rolando Lim-ang Molina, 27, farmer and a resident of Binasaran, Malibcong, Abra was nabbed in the morning of June 7, 2017. Suspect is charged with the crime of Attempted Homicide. Judge Bonhoefer V. Bernardez, Acting Presiding Judge, 8th MCTC Baay-Licuan, Abra who issued Molina’s WOA recommended a bail bond of Php 12,000.00 for his temporary liberty.

Likewise, La Trinidad’s No. 1 TMWP Ronald Salibad Baliang, 48, driver, and a resident of La Trinidad, Benguet was likewise nabbed in the morning of June 7, 2017 at La Trinidad, Benguet for violation of RA 9262. Baliang has a recommended bail bond of Php 80,000.00 issued by Judge Rufus G. Malecdan, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Br. 9, of La Trinidad Benguet.

Still at Benguet, Tublay’s, No. 7 TMWP charged for the crime of Grave Threats was nabbed in his residence at Adabong, Acop, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet in the early morning of June 13, 2017. Arrested suspect identified as Lorenzo Banguili Balaswit, 48 has a recommended bail of Php24,000.00 issued by Judge Marybelle Demot Mariñas, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 8, First Judicial Region, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Moreover, Baguio City’s No. 6 TMWP charged for violation of BP 22 was nabbed at Atok Trail, Baguio City in the night of June 15, 2017. Arrested suspect identified as Benjamin Esguerra Estrella Jr, 41, has a recommended bail of Php11,000.00 issued by Judge Redentor Valera, MTC, Bangued, Abra.

Finally, Luna, Apayao’s No. 8 TMWP charged for the crime of Slight Physical Injuries was arrested in the morning of June 5, 2017. Arrested suspect identified as Jessie Cariaga has a recommended bail of Php5,000.00 issued by Judge Qurino Andaya of RTC Br 26, Luna, Apayao.

Aside from the above arrests, 56 other wanted persons were arrested for committing various offenses, most of which are cases of Estafa, Violation of 7610 and Physical Injuries.

Regional Director, Chief Superintendent Francis Sarona lauded the members of the operating units for the arrest of the wanted persons and encourages all units in the region to sustain the operation against wanted persons.

Putting all wanted persons behind bars will greatly help in achieving lasting peace in our community, thus, the cooperation of the public is being solicited to help our law enforcers arrest them the soonest. (PROCOR RPIO)
