PROCOR CAMP BADO DANGWA: The heightened campaign against illegal drugs and illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of six individuals over the week.
Joint operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Baguio City Police Office personnel arrested Paolo Aquino Rivera a.k.a “Carlo”, 29, SITEL employee, and a resident of Labsan Street, Kayang Extension, Baguio City during a buy bust operation in the afternoon of July 2017 along Abanao Street, AZCKO Brgy., Baguio City. Seized from his possession were one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, one zip lock transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves placed in a Gray Black Nike Back Pack and Php500 buy-bust money
Another two drug users were likewise arrested after a concerned citizen reported to the patrolling policemen that suspects were seen using suspected illegal drugs at Lions Park, Burnham Legarda Barangay, Baguio City in the afternoon of July 19, 2017.
Responding police officers arrested the suspects identified as Jigs Gabor y Evangelista, 25, student, a resident of Upper QM, Baguio City and Philip John Villanueva y Evangelista, 30, and a resident of Rimando Road, Aurora Hill, Baguio City upon confirmation that the duo were using illegal drugs.
Confiscated from their possession were five transparent sachet containing suspected dried MJ leaves, drug paraphernalia and one Double Bladed Knife.
On the other hand, three gamblers were arrested in the act of playing card game “Lucky Nine in the morning of July 19, 2017 at Trading Post, Barangay Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Arrested gamblers were Seigfred Guma-ad Tel-ew, Jeramil Lupingay Moreno and Joan Jacaban Mangaoang while confiscated items were 1 set playing cards, one table, one mono block chair and bet money amounting to Php 360.00.
The PNP is developing a strategy to have a "double-barrel" plan in the crackdown of illegal gambling, which will be similar to the strategy on war on drugs to strengthen our campaign against illegal gambling. (PROCOR RPIO)
