PROCOR, La Trinidad, Benguet: Eight alleged NPA members believed to belong to the Sangay Organization under the Militia ng Bayan returned to the folds of the law as they voluntarily surrender to the joint personnel of Tubo MPS, PIB, Abra PPO and members of the 24th IB, PA at around 11:00 AM of July 17, 2017.

In the initial interview with the rebel returnees, they revealed that they decided to voluntarily surrender to the government authorities to live peacefully and to concentrate in their daily works. They added that they will support the plans and programs of the government.

Moreover, returnees are members of SANGAY Organization under the Militia ng Bayan who are apparently the lowest political party of the New People’s Army (NPA).

The information that ranks of the CPP/NPA/NDF continuously diminish is once again proven with the surrender of the above eight members of the NPA after one Rafael Amorsolo Y Bautista, @ Che-che, an NPA member on July 11, 2017.

The return of the NPA members to the government is attributed to the massive information campaign and tactical operations conducted by the operating elements of PROCOR and AFP.

Benefits will be given to the returnees under the Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government and incentives for the firearms that will be returned.

PROCOR under the leadership of the PCSUPT Elmo Francis Oco Sarona encourages all remaining members and supporters of the New People’s Army to lay down their arms and return to the mainstream of society while he extend his gratitude to the people of Malibcong for the unwavering support they are extending to our troops operating in the province of Abra specifically in their area.

“This is a time for NPAs to embrace the path to peace so that progress and development will be felt from the countryside up to the far flung communities”, PCSUPT SARONA added. (PROCOR RPIO)
