The unyielding accounting of wanted persons by operatives of PROCOR resulted in the arrest of the Nr. 7 Highway Patrol Unit (HPU) listed Top Most Wanted Person (TMWP) national level, 5 TMWP local level for the 3rd quarter of this year, and 30 other wanted persons in a week, covering the period July 31 – August 6, 2018.
The number 7 HPU listed TMWP national level charged for the crime of Carnapping identified as Greggie Ambona y Dawig-a, 19, single, landed in jail after he was nabbed in his residence at Purok 6 Tabuk City Kalinga in the morning of July 31, 2018. He is also listed as HPU Cordillera’s No. 2 TMWP Regional Level for the 2nd quarter of 2018, and No. 1 in the Provincial level of TMWP HPG list in Kalinga. He was the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Nelljoe A Cortes of the RTC Branch 25, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga with no bail recommended. Ambona was tagged as the leader of the group which was involved in a series of carnapping incidents within Regions 1, 2, Cordillera, and Central Luzon.
Likewise, Cordillera’s no. 8 TMWP charged for the crimes of Rape and six counts of Acts of Lasciviousness eventually fell into the long arms of the law. Mario H. Gavino, 33, and a farmer was nabbed in his residence at Sitio Nampaling, Namal Asipulo, Ifugao on August 4, 2018 by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Romeo U. Habbiling of RTC Br 14, 2nd Judicial Region, Lagawe, Ifugao with no bail recommended for the crime of Rape and a bail bond of Php200,000 for the other offenses.
Baguio’s No. 5 TMWP identified as Marc Christopher Siplat Alhambra, 42, a resident of Barangay Lesseb, Burgos, Ilocos Sur was arrested in the night of August 1, 2018 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur. He was charged for Qualified Theft and 138 counts of Falsification of Commercial Document issued by Judges Cecilia Corazon Dulay S. Archog of RTC BR.6, Baguio City and Clarita Casuga Tabin of MTCC Branch 4, Baguio City with a recommended a bail of ₱100,000.00 and P1,656,000.00 respectively.
Alhambra is also listed as the No 5 TMWP of Police Station 6, Baguio City Police Office who was served of his warrant in the morning of August 2, 2018 issued by Judge Maria Clarita Casuga-Tabin, Presiding Judge, Municipal Trial Court in Cities, First Judicial Region, Branch 4, Baguio City with a recommended total bail bond of Php36, 000. 00 while detained inside the Baguio City Jail for other crimes he committed.
Completing the list of local TMWPs is Baguio’s Nr. 10 identified as Mayo Campa Calasiao a.k.a Mayo Champolay Calasiao, 38, a resident of Balangbang, Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet who was arrested at Barangay Tara-tara, Sison, Pangasinan in the night of August 5, 2018. He was charged for the crime of Robbery In An Uninhabited Place issued by Judge Glenda T. Ortiz-Soriano, Presiding Judge of MTCC, First Judicial Region, Branch 2, Baguio City with a recommended bail bond of Php100,000.00.
Moreover, 30 other wanted person were arrested region wide for various crimes for the week covered.
PROCOR Regional Director PCSUPT Rolando Z Nana commended the operating units for a job well done ."We are relentlessly dedicated to continue our service as protectors of the people. We grab this chance to hunt these criminals to prevent them from committing other hideous crimes to ensure the security of the public," he said.
Finally, he directed all unit commanders to sustain the service of warrants and account all wanted persons to help fast track pending cases in various courts in the region. (PROCOR RPIO)
