CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – More than 800 PROCOR
personnel were deployed to assist in the search, rescue, and evacuation
operations in the affected areas in Cordillera region and nearby
province during and after the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.

As a result of typhoon Ulysses last week, 16 causalities were recorded
in which 12 cadavers were already retrieved, 3 injured individuals were
rescued while only one person is still missing, as of November 16, 2020.

Before the landfall of the typhoon, PROCOR Regional Police Brigadier
General R’WIN SA PAGKALINAWAN ensured the activation of the Disaster
Incident Management Task Groups in the most seriously affected province
of Benguet and Ifugao. Also, red alert status was elevated to ensure
that all PROCOR personnel are ready to respond.

During the typhoon, a total of 848 police personnel composed of Search
and Rescue and Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) personnel were
deployed to conduct search and rescue operations, assisted in the
conduct of relief and clearing operations. Also, 614 SAR personnel were
on standby. Likewise, Search and Rescue (SAR) equipment were prepared to
ensure its readiness.

PROCOR also made coordination’s with the LGU’s to help in the
monitoring, assist in the forced pre-emptive evacuation of residents in
the affected areas, conducted “Tamboli” in barangays to give
warnings and provide security at designated Evacuation Centers and other
action.

At present, continuous search, rescue and retrieval operation is still
on going in Ifugao for the recovery of Clever Piog, 18, who is a
resident of Mt. Polis, Viewpoint, Banaue, Ifugao. PROCOR leadership
assured the cordilleran’s that no one will be left behind.

Likewise, PROCOR extended help to the nearby province of Cagayan where
boat was offered, help in the hauling, and transporting of relief and
food packs and assisted in the search and rescue operations.

Once again, the Spirit of Bayanihan is demonstrated during the most
challenging of times of calamities, where high land cops work in unity
together with various agencies to support and help the community,
families and individuals in this time of crisis and ensure the safety of
