As part of its continous efforts to get rid Baguio City of illegal drug activities, Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) has arrested another high-value drug personality in a buy-bust operation conducted at Rice Section, Upper Magsaysay Barangay, Baguio City on friday night, January 29, 2021.
The City Director of Baguio CPO, PCOL ALLEN RAE F CO, identified the suspect as Josephine L Catapang, 47 years old and a resident of Middle Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
In his report to the Regional Director, PBGEN R’WIN S PAGKALINAWAN, PCOL CO said that the suspect, Catapang, was apprehended by the operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Abanao Police Station (PS7) after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu to the police operative who acted as poseur-buyer.
In the course of her arrest, another two sachet of suspected shabu was confiscated in the actual possesion of the suspect. In total, three sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 1.5 grams and with an estimated value of Php 10,300.00 was confiscated as the result of the operation.
Inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted on-site in the presence of Prosecutor Oliver Prodencio, Barangay Kagawad Obello, and Mr. Dionisio Dennis of DZWT Radio Station.
The suspect is now under the custody of Baguio City Police Office while charges for violation of RA 9165 is being readied against her.
For the month of January, a total of seven individuals were arrested in series of anti-illegal drugs operations conducted by Baguio CPO, of which, three were listed as High-Value Individual. (PROCOR PIO with reports from Baguio CPO PIO)
