CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad Benguet- The Chief Philippine National Police, POLICE GENERAL GUILLERMO LORENZO TOLENTINO ELEAZAR, administered the oath of National Coalition of Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Groups and pledge of the former rebels’ withdrawal to the Communist Terrorist Group at Abra Provincial Capitol Atrium, Bangued, Abra.

The ceremony was graced by the Hon. Congressman Joseph Sto. Nino “JB” B Bernos; Hon. Governor Ma. Jocelyn “Joy” V Bernos; Mr. Nathaniel Lacambra, Regional Director of DOLE-CAR; Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members; and Local Chief Executive.

The Advocacy Support Groups are composed of different organizations such as Force Multipliers, Women & LGBTQ, Faith-Based, Global PCR, KALIGKASAN, Foreign National Keepers Network (FNKN), National Coalition of Information Technology Advocates for Change (NTCITAC), Barangay Based, Joint Industrial Peace Concerns Office (JIPCO) and Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo (KKDAT).  

The Advocacy Support Group members are from the different Municipalities of Abra namely: Bangued, Boliney, Bucay, Luba, Penarrubia, Pilar, San Quintin, Tayum, Tineg, and Villaviciosa.

Meanwhile, through the personnel series of negotiations and with the help of the community, 40 former rebels return to the fold of the law. To start a new, PGEN ELEAZAR awarded the certificate of livelihood entitlement to the former rebels given by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) amounting to Php 20,000.00.

Further, the Advocacy Support Groups will serve as the partner of PNP to achieve peace through their help and support in any Government projects and programs in the suppression of any crime especially in the fight against insurgency and terrorism. (PROCOR-PIO)
