CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Acting on the instructions of PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, Regional Director, various unit implemented a five-day bigtime marijuana eradication operation dubbed as Oplan Herodotus that resulted in the discovery and destruction of more than P678 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants and seedlings in the hinterland of Cordillera from September 23-27, 2021.
As a result of the five-day marijuana eradication operations, a total of 72 marijuana plantations sites were discovered in Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province.
In Benguet, a total of 11,850 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) and 24,780 seedlings worth Php 3,361,200.00 were uprooted in 30 separate marijuana plantation sites discovered by the operatives.
In Kalinga, a total of 2,241,500 FGMP and 1,640 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves/stalks/fruiting tops with a total value of Php 645,100,000.00 were also uprooted in 39 marijuana plantation sites found by the troops.
While in Mountain Province, a total of 152,000 FGMP with a total value of Php 30,400,000.00 were destroyed in three marijuana plantations sites discovered by the operatives.
All uprooted marijuana plants were burned onsite by the combined operating troops of Benguet, Kalinga and Mt Province and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
In his visit in Tinglayan, Kalinga, PBGEN LEE personally extend his appreciation to the operating personnel for their efforts and dedication. He also, instructed to continously monitor the presence of marijuana plantation sites in thier areas of responsibility for appropriate intervention.
Continuous illegal drug operations and other interventions in the form of preventive patrol operations, and checkpoints, are being carried out regionwide to thwart any form of illegal drug activities. (PROCOR-PIO)
