In Abra, police officers of the Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) together with partner agencies and other advocacy groups brought their services closer to the community by conducting #BARANGAYanihan outreach activities in the municipalities of Lacub and Tineg.

In Lacub, police officers of 1st Abra Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Lacub Municipal Police Station (MPS), in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Red Cross, Rotary Club of Bangued, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Lagangilang, Office of the Provincial Agriculture (OPAG), Municipal Agriculture of Lacub, Mt. Carmel Agritourism, Faith-Based Group, and other stakeholders conducted an outreach activity that benefited a total of 176 individuals in Brgy Pacoc.

Traveling for almost four (4) hours and hiking for another half hour, passing through mountainous treks & farms, and crossing over two (2) bridges, the team was able to reach the barangay.

With the theme, “Spreading Love and Happiness Through Sharing,” the following services were provided to the community: distribution of seeds from OPAG; demonstration on seedling production by the Mount Carmel Agri-Tourism; hands-on care and patient education by Mr. Dregan Piralta, Physical Therapist; orientation on Personal Care and Hygiene by the Philippine Red Cross; lecture on the different programs on Environmental Conservation by CENRO; lectures on Anti-Criminality; feeding activity; free hair cut services; and parlor games.

Moreover, the team also distributed assorted grocery items to a total of 87 families, and school supplies & hygiene kits to 89 learners in the area.

Meanwhile, in Tineg, over 500 children and senior citizens benefited from the outreach activity conducted by police officers of 1st Abra PMFC and Tineg MPS, in collaboration with various agencies and stakeholders, at the Municipal Gym in Sitio Vira, Brgy Alaoa.

During the event, they provided free haircut services; free medical check-ups; baking demonstrations; and distribution of food packs, seedlings, fingerlings, and fish traps to the community.

The said outreach activities are still part of the continuous conduct of the “Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan towards National Recovery” by Cordillera cops, in collaboration with other government agencies, aiming to bring their services closer to the people. (PROCOR-PIO)
